The story

Alan R Ackroyd writes about mindfulness and personal growth — not as lofty theory, but as something you can actually use on an ordinary, hectic day.

Alan has spent years exploring what helps people feel calmer, clearer and more in control in everyday life. That interest in mindfulness, habits and human potential runs through everything he writes.

His aim is simple: take ideas that often sound complicated and turn them into small, doable habits. Mindful Commuting grew from exactly that — the realisation that the dead time we spend travelling could become a daily pocket of calm instead.

When a technique is practical enough to use on a crowded train, it’s practical enough for the rest of life too.
